VOLUNTEER – HANDS-ON
When it comes to ministry the most valuable resource is THE PEOPLE. The missions ministry of Christ UMC could not happen without the dedication of the membership. If you are actively involved in the missions ministry we want to say thank you. If you are not involved then we ask you to pray about the area in which God might be calling you to serve. You can volunteer by contacting the missions office or by visiting the church website.
GIVE TO BUDGET
Financial resources are certainly a requirement for an effective missions ministry. The primary financial support for the mission ministry comes through faithful stewardship and giving to the church budget.
SPECIAL OFFERINGS
Throughout the year we take up special offerings for financial support of various ministries. We traditionally have a Christmas and Easter special offering, but we additionally provide support in emergency situations such as earthquakes, fires, and floods. Some of our yearly offerings also include support for United Methodist Committee on Relief and UM Senior Services. Also our children donate their Vacation Bible School offerings to various missions each year.
GARAGE SALE
A garage sale is held each year in the fall to supplement our missions funding.
• Contribute non-clothing items for the sale
• Volunteer to help sort and price items for the sale
• Volunteer to help on the day of the sale
• Volunteer to help load unsold items for delivery to the
Good Samaritan Center
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
The United Methodist Women were founded through a passion for missions. All of the circles are committed to support missions. The UMW informational booklet provides information on all of their projects.
OTHER GROUPS
Many groups throughout the congregation faithfully support a variety of mission opportunities. Sunday School Classes, Small groups, the various choirs, and many others support our church wide missions as well as some of their own.
